Day To Day Itinerary

Your adventure begins with a scenic drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, where the trek officially starts. From here, the trail winds through lush forests, terraced fields, and charming villages. You’ll pass local farms, suspension bridges, and flowing streams before reaching Ghandruk, a picturesque Gurung village known for its stone houses and stunning mountain views. Overnight in a cozy teahouse, soaking in the serenity of the Himalayas.

Today’s trek descends through the village paths to the Kimrong Khola river and then ascends gradually towards Chhomrong, one of the main gateway villages to the Annapurna Sanctuary. Along the way, enjoy panoramic views of Annapurna South and Machhapuchhre. Chhomrong is a lively village with local teahouses and traditional culture, providing a perfect rest stop before higher elevations.

The trail today takes you through dense forests of bamboo and rhododendron, along narrow ridges and cascading waterfalls. You will descend to Chhomrong Khola and then climb steadily towards Bamboo, surrounded by breathtaking landscapes and the occasional glimpse of distant peaks. The hike is moderate and provides ample opportunities for photography and enjoying the local flora and fauna.

From Bamboo, the trail becomes steeper as you enter higher elevations. You’ll trek through rhododendron forests, cross wooden bridges, and pass through small hamlets. By reaching Deurali, you are now in the high Himalayas, where the air becomes crisp and the scenery more dramatic, with snow-capped peaks appearing closer with every step. Overnight in a teahouse surrounded by towering mountains.

This is the highlight of the trek. Early in the morning, you’ll trek past Machhapuchhre Base Camp, where the iconic “Fishtail” mountain dominates the skyline. The trail enters the Annapurna Sanctuary, a natural amphitheater surrounded by peaks. Arriving at Annapurna Base Camp, you’ll be rewarded with a 360° panorama of Annapurna I, Machhapuchhre, Hiunchuli, and other surrounding peaks. Witness a magical sunset over the Himalayas—an experience that stays with every trekker forever.

After enjoying a sunrise at ABC, it’s time to descend. The trail retraces through the sanctuary, offering fresh perspectives on the peaks and glaciers you admired on the way up. Overnight at Bamboo, where the warmth of the teahouses provides comfort after a long but fulfilling day of trekking.

Today’s trek is mostly downhill, passing through Chhomrong again. You will continue to Jhinu Danda, famous for its natural hot springs. Here, trekkers can relax and soak their tired muscles in the warm waters, enjoying the serenity of the forested surroundings. It’s a perfect spot to rejuvenate before the final descent.

The trek continues downhill to Siwai, where your road transport awaits. A scenic drive returns you to Pokhara, giving you time to rest and enjoy the lakeside city. You can stroll along Phewa Lake, explore local markets, or enjoy the vibrant restaurants and cafes.

Take a day to explore Pokhara’s highlights: visit the World Peace Pagoda for panoramic views, enjoy boating on Phewa Lake, or explore Devi’s Fall and Gupteshwor Cave. It’s a relaxing day after the trek, giving you a chance to soak in the beauty and culture of the city before returning to Kathmandu.

Return to Kathmandu either by scenic drive or a short domestic flight. Depending on your schedule, enjoy final sightseeing, shopping for souvenirs, or simply reflecting on the incredible journey you’ve completed. The Annapurna Base Camp Trek concludes, leaving you with unforgettable memories and breathtaking photos of the Himalayas.
